The finalists in the Auckland amateur billiards championship, E. V. Roberts and M. D. White, commenced. a game of 1000 up last night, when there was a large attendance. Roberts was at one stage over 150 behind, but consecutive cues gavo breaks of 72 and 79, thus evening the scores. White continued to play consistently, running to session points with a slight lead. The scores were: White 502 (in play), Roberts 485. The beat breaks were:— White 28, 32, 33, 26, 63, 21, 35, 20; Roberts, 72, 79, 32, 32, 30, 36, 21.
