AUCKLAND, 26th August. "I see you are doing four months' unprisonment now,'' said Mr. ■ 'Justice Hordinan to William' Alexander 'Burrell, a young man who came up for sentence this morning on charges of forgery and horse stealing. . Burroll - -had paid a deposit on a horse and theii sokl the animal, and had also forged "the name of a mate to a cheque. "You have been in .and out of gaol since 1319. Tiie only thing I can do is to sentence you to two years' hard labour, to-com-mence at the expiration of the present sentence." •— ~
