During a discussion on the sawmilling industry in ,the House of Represents* tives yesterday afternoon, Mr. B. W. Smith (Waimarino) was inclined' to wax eloquent, but at times he went just a little astray. -
"I hope the Minister of Custom* won't bo the fifth wheel of the coach," he said on one occasion, speaking with emphasis. "I hope he won't be th« fifth horae pulling behind. I hope he will be on tho box seat." . ■
Mr. P, Fraser (Wellington Central)!! "A horse on the box seat!" ':
But Mr. Smith was undismayed." "I hope the ftjjnister won't be a rope round his neck, but will dig his. toes in."
