STRAND THEATRE.
The star attraction at the Strand Theatre, which commenced to-day, is Reginald Denny and Laura La Plante in "Skinner's Dress Suit." Denny, in the role of Skinner, give 3 one of the best performances of his long and varied career. His woebegone smile makes him ideally suited for the difficult part. Laura La Plante, as "Honey," the golden-haired wife of the underpaid bookkeeper, finds her way into the heart. She has that cuddly cuteness in her make-up that is a triumph of personality. The second feature is "The Happy Ending," starring Fay Compton and Jack Buchanan. It is a dramatic story quite out of the ordinary—wherein the hero is a villain and in which the sequence of tense situations and finale are not anticipated; a story which has pathos and humour, is beautifully presented in sylvan and river scenery, and is magnificently played.
