In the House of Commons, Mr. Orms-by-Gore, Dominions' TJnder-Secretary, replied in the negative to a ' queg. tion as to whether the Imperial Conference would consider the difficulties of extending Imperial Preference armng from the fact that mandated territories were at present prohibited from reciprocating any Customs preferences they might be granted by other parts of the Empire. The Dominions 1 Under-Secretary pointed out that the terms of the mandates were unalterable without a unanimous decision of the League of Nations Council.
