♦ VICTORIA EASILY DEFEATED IN RUGBY CONTEST. (United Pmt Association.—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, 2nd August. The Maori Rugby touring team played its second match against victoria to-day, and won by the great score of, 57 points to nil. The attendance was only moderate. The following was the Maori team:— M'Donald, Grace, Phillips, Robinson, Lockwood, Mete, Shortland, Bell, J. Gemmell, Stewart, Manihera, Tatana, Manning, Crawford, and Dennis. Victoria was not strongly represented, and was hopelessly outclassed. The Maoris scored seventeen tries, three of which were converted. The cable news in this issue accredited to "The Times" has appeared in that journal, but only where expressly stated is such news the editorial opinion of "Xl» Times.'?
