MAORI TOURING TEAM
♦ VICTORIA EASILY DEFEATED IN RUGBY CONTEST. (United Pmt Association.—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, 2nd August. The Maori Rugby touring team played its second match against victoria to-day, and won by the great score of, 57 points to nil. The attendance was only moderate. The following was the Maori team:— M'Donald, Grace, Phillips, Robinson, Lockwood, Mete, Shortland, Bell, J. Gemmell, Stewart, Manihera, Tatana, Manning, Crawford, and Dennis. Victoria was not strongly represented, and was hopelessly outclassed. The Maoris scored seventeen tries, three of which were converted.
