CHARGE OF MURDER
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. The criminal sittings opened this morning with only three cases. Mr. Justice Sim, addresisng the Grand Jury, said the most serious was the charge of murder against Patrick John Jager. It appeared from the depositions that Jager had been on friendly terms with Arthur Creagh and had boarded with him, sharing the same room. On 3rd May Jager attacked Creagh with a beer bottle. He struck him on the head, and then cut his throat. Jager gave himself up, and said he had killed Creagh. The real question was whether the accused's mental condition was such that he could" be held criminally responsible. A true bill was returned.
