THE WINTER SHOW
+ STATEMENT OF RECEIPTS. A meeting of the committee of the Wellington Winter Show Association was held last night, Mr. G-. Mitchell presiding. A statement of the receipts at the Show last month (with the corresponding figures for the preceding year in parentheses) gave the following details:—Admission at doors (£3871), £4286; tearooms (£712), £274; side-shows (£543), £674; space rentals (£1498), £1178; dog trials (£SB), £10; donations (£327), £88; sale of catalogues (£5), £21. These figures, the chairman said, were not complete; the takings this year would be on a par with those of last year, but there was no indication that they would be greater. He thought that, taking everything into consideration, the result was very gratifying. Special yotes of thanks were accorded to the various bodies who had assisted at the Show, which included the Kowhai Junior High School and the Wellington Technical College, whose exhibits had been very fine.
