CHARGES OF FORGERY.

In tho Police Court, John Joseph Hansen, alias Jim Wcreta, a.<rcd 23; Neils Marten Olson, 32; and Edith Rosina Smith, 22, appeared on a number of charges. Hansen pleaded guilty to stealing from a house at Papatawa the sum of 17s and sundry articles, including a Post Office savings bank book, of a total value of £3 "ss. Ho further pleaded guilty to forging a Post Office withdrawal slip for £150 and. uttering it. He was committed for sentence to the Wellington Supreme Court. Smith pleaded not guilty to forging another withdrawal'slip for £15!) and uttering it to a postal official. She also pleaded not guilty to conspiring with the -others to defraud the Postmaster-Gen-eral of £159. She was committed for trial at Palmerston North.
Hansen and Olsen pleaded guilty to conspiracy with Smith, and were committed to Wellington for sentence.
