NORTH-SOUTH LEADERS.
The captains and vice-captains of the North and South Island teams were appointed by the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union last evening. On the recommendation of the selectors, W. C. Dalley (Canterbury) and R. Stewart (South Canterbury) were appointed captain and vice-captain respectively of the South Island team. The North Island selectors recommended C. G. Porter (Wellington) as captain of the North team, but the committee decided that M. F. Nicholls (Wellington) be captain and C. G. Porter vice-captain. The teams are to assemble in Wellington tomorrow.
