ALLEGATION OF FRAUD

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
"I will bring evidence to prove that the accused has been defrauding the public for some years,'' said Mr. Brown, who appeared on behalf of the Crown Prosecutor, in the Magistrate's Court to-day, when Alfred Akins, manager for the Christchurch firm of Andrew Lees, was charged that he did, with intent to defraud, attempt to obtain from Carl Gustave Johanson the sum of £2 19s by falsely representing that two drums of Hartman's No. 2 Red Hand paint were Hartman's No. 1 paint. Tho accused pleaded not guilty. The case is proceeding.
