It is officially announced that Viscount Willingdon has been appointed Governor-General of Canada.
Viscount Willingdon is the first of the title, which was created in 1913. The family name is Freeman-Thomas. He was Governor of Bombay from 1913-1919 and of Madras 1919-1924.
