IN AUSTRALIAN MINES

RELIEF TO FAMILIES IN NEED

IMPORTANT CONFERENCE HELD,

(United Press Association.—Copyright)

(Received 9th June, 10 a.m.)

SYDNEY, This Day.

There is little change in the coal strike -position. A settlement on the men's terms was reached by the Gunnedah Mine, which resumes immediately. Some idea of the distress among minors is given by the fact that 62 families were provided with relief by the Kurrikurri Committee on Monday afternoon. An important, conference between Mr. J. M. Baddeley, Minister of Mines, and Mr. Hibble, chairman of the Coal Tribunal, has been arranged for today.
