EFFECT ON SUPPLIES HERE
UNION S.S. COi'S STATEMENT,
"I do not think the fire' at Tort San Luis will seriously affect our supplies from the Union, Oil Company," said Mr. Greenwood, of the Union S/\ Company, to a "Post" reporter this morning. "There'aro; 42 imperial gallons to a barrel, &nd. 420,000,000 gallons of oil soenis a lot at first sight. But Port San Luis is only one of the storage p_orts for shipping, though a fairly large one. We have a vessel loading at Port San Luis on Monday, and if here were any likelihood of her.being held up we would hav3 heard. It is not at all clear that the oil ablaze is that from which the' shipping draws its supplies. It may bo oil stored for inland distribution. 'At any rate, wo lave heard nothing more than what has^ appeared an the cables.'' The Union 1 S.S. Co. has four tanks here, and the Tascalusa has just arrived with a cargo of oil for the Union Company from Port San Luis.
