Results of this morning's tennis "lien's Singles,—First round (Victoria College) beat Chisholm (Otago), 6-2,,3-6, 6-3; Ferkins (Vie toria) beat Watson (Otago), 6-2, 6-1; Hubble (Auckland) beat Hunter (Canterbury), 6-4, 3-6, 6-4; Bobinson (Canterbury) beat Turner (Auckland), 6-3, fi 1 ' / ■ Ladies' Singles.—Miss Ballantyne (Otago) beat Miss Sharpc (Auckland), 0-0 6-1; Miss Miller (Auckland) beat Miss Witherons (Otago), 6-5, 4-6, 6-3. Ladies? Doubles.—Misses Sheppard and Madelcy (Victoria) beat Aitchison and Cowie (Otago), : 6-2, 6-2. The University Tourney boxing preliminaries took place at His Majesty's Theatre this morning, and the finals -will be staged to-night. Ecsults: — Bantamweight: M'Alevey (Otago) beat M'George (Canterbury); Richard (Auckland), a bye. _ Featherweight: Ferguson (Otago) beat Rickard (Auckland); Chester (Canterbury,) beat Ham (Victoria). Lightweight.—Davis (Canterbury)' beat King (Auckland); Cotter (Otago) beat Richardson (Victoria). Welterweight: Desmond (Victoria) beat Enles (Auckland); Petre (Canterbury) beat Twhigg (Otago). Middleweight.—Smith (Canterbury) beat Gunn (Auckland): Sceats (Victoria) beat Batchelor (Otago). Heavyweight. —Norris (Otago) beat Gardner (Auckland); Burrows (Canterbury) beat Platts-Mills (Victoria). In the middleweight boxing competition, Smith twice accidentally caught Gunn on the nose with his head. It was found later that the cartilage of the AucMander's nose had been broken.
