LODGE MEETINGS
The first session of the Kilbirnie Tent of Rechabites for 1926 was held at the meeting-room, Cockburn street. . A full attendance of the juveniles, under the superintendency of Bro.. and Sister F. G. Johnson, was present, and took a keen interest in the officers' election. Five candidates stood for the Chief Ruler chair and eight for the office of Levite. The result of the elections were: Chief Ruler, Bro. S. Richard; Deputy-Ruler, Bro. C. Jeffcrys; secretary, Sister F. Thompson; Levite, Bro. H. Johnson; Guardian, Bro. C. Philpott*; Entertainment Committee, Sisters O. H»U and D. Urwin, Bro. G. Ridley, and Bro. Rl Phillips. One candidate was initiated. Progress reports were given in connection with the picnic, which is to be held at Haywards early in March. The adult tent met at th« close of the juvenile meeting. The clearance members were reported upon, medical and picnic reports were presented, and arrangements made for the meetings. The syllabus for 1926 was handed around to the members. The following officers were elected: Chief Ruler, Bro. I. Hildreth; Deputy-Ruler, Sister F. G. Johnson; secretary, Bro. E. Flemwell; treasurer, Bro. T. Fathers; Leyite, Bro. F. G. Johnson, Past Provincial Chief Ruler. Bro. M, H. Jefferys carried out the installation ceremonies, addressing the newly-elected officers of the juvenile and adult tents npon their respective duties and obligations as officers, and wishing them a happy and prosperous term of office. Bro. .Jefferys also gave a report of the Provincial Council meeting, outlining the proposed plan of operations for the year, the first being arrangements for some of the Provincial Council officers to officially visit Masterton and Carterton. Thanks were heartily given to the installing officer. The Court of Sir G. Grey, No. 3118, A.0.F., held a largely-attended meeting in the Dominion Farmers' Institute lasi evening. Bro. Westwood was in the chair. Five new members were elected, 1 and several were proposed for membership, Bro. Key reading the charge. The court has now a membership of over 300, and the statement of accounts read last evening showed that the financial . side of the court was in a very satisfactory state.
