A largely-attended meeting of the Irish Republican Association was held during the week-end. A debate, presided over by Mr. P. J. O'Regan, took place on the motion, "That the realisation of the national and economic aspirations of the Irish 'people was compatible with the continued existence of the British Empire." Mr. R. Griffin affirmed the motion, and Mr. J. Loughnan'' opposed it. Several members of the audience took part in the discussion, the majority opposing the motion. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the speakers.
