OLYMPIC NOT'IN DISTRESS,

Mr. P." A. S. Franklin, ■ president of the International Mercantile Maripe, declared the. reports that the White ■Star iiner Qlyinpiu is in distress were nonsense. The 'vessel left Southampton on Wednesday, and had not had tin-.e to dear the English Channel. The report came from Columbus, Indiana, that an .S.O.S. call from the Olympic, was belieVed to have been received over the radio there.
Naval communications in'Waishingtou did liot receive any radio distress call, from the Olympic. The Boston staamcr Scythia reported early 04 Wednesday morning that she heard no distress calls from the Olympic, and the Valentia station, in Ireland, reported that it wa« without information.
