WARM WEATHER
BAIN IN WESTEBN DISTRICTS.
The rain which fell during the night not unwelcome locally, as the weather brightened again to-day to satisfy the desires of sportsmen and holiday-makers. Most districts with a westerly aspect experienced rain last night, and some fairly heavy falls were recorded. The amount registered in Wellington at 9 o'clock this morning was 40 points (twofifths of an inch). Generally, however, the weather has been warm and fair to cloudy. This is likely to continue, though on all the western coast and in the southern districts conditions nay be unsettled with rain probable. The barometer "shows a falling tendency, and moderate to strong westerly winds, squally at times, are to be. expected northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and northerlies, strong to gale and backing to westerlies, elsewhere.
