WANGANUI, 12th January. The second Wanganui wool sale of the current season began to-night. Thero is a total of 20,000 bales to bo offered. Prices wore firm on the Christen urch rates, the market showing a sound tone, much improved on the position earlier in the season. Competition was brisk and at tiroes extremely spirited. All classes of wools encountered a satisfactory demand. Good to super wools brought from a halfpenny to a penny per lb more than the opening season's rates.
