KING'S THEATRE.
Capacity houses nightly- at the King's Theatre are bearing 1, ample testimony to the excellence of Metro-Goldwyn's famous production, "The Silent Accuser," which, together with a fine minor programme, holds the screen this week. Of established reputation, "Peter the Great,"-, the world's most sagacious canine, inclines his noble head in a bow to New Zealand audiences for the first time. Eleanor Boardman, Raymond M'Kee, and a sterling cast are concerned in the production, but good as their acting is the honour of first favouritism with the public is unquestionably won by the dog, "Peter the Great," whoso work right throughout tho play^ is amazing. There are times when the intelligence of this remarkable dog seems positively uncanny, a multitude of incidents being shown in which his brilliance is clearly demonstrated. An exceptionally good Pathe Gazette, "Screen Snapshots," "Lake Wanaka," a delightful New Zealand Government film, and a smart cartoon complete an excellent holiday programme, which will hold the screen throughout the week.
