PORT NICHOLSON BAND.
For the final recital of the 1925 season, it would be difficult to offer a more attractive programme for to-morrow night than that announced £or presentation in tho Grand Opera House by tho Port Nicholson Band and the talented artists that have been secured. Miss Christina Ormiston, a brilliant soprano who hails from Gisborne and has recently returned from Australia, where she has sung at several of the leading concerts and received excellent Press .notices, will sing the "Waltz Song," from the opera "Tom Jones; Mrs VVilfre;! Andrews, the Dominion's leading mezzo, is also on the bill and will sing, "Pnlo Moon;' Mr James Oaborne, Wellington's .popu-lar-tenor, ■ will sing "Lolitn;" Mr W. Marshall, one of the finest bassos hoard in'this city for some time, will sing "The Tideless Sea;" the Lyric Quartotte (Messrs. Phipps, Howe, Oondie, and Brown) will sing the popular "Simple Simon;" the Dominion's leading flautist, Mr. Claude Tucker, who is making his first appearance since his return to the Dominion, will play the :'olo "ScherzoCapriccio;" W. G. Stevenson, the cornet virtuoso, one of the outstanding players on. this instrument in Now Zealand and Australia, will play ' Titania," as featured by Mr. Arthur Stender. Mr Frank Crowther will act as accompanist. Tho band items include tho hymn "Nearer, My God, to Thee," a pot poiirri "Tho Musical Switch," the selection "Lohengrin," and the contest march "Australasian."
