THE PUBLIC LIBRARY
to inn CDiron. Sir,—l wish through youv columns to bring lindei' tho notioo of the Lib■rnries Committee of tlie City Council the present congested state of the Public Library. I'; is not now large enough for the number of students and readers who .avail themselves of its benefits. On 'a few evenings this week, both reference , rooms were crowded, and a few had to st:t:i.. until a seat became vacant. Under tho circumstances, I think that t'- ■> City Council should take immediate steps to relievo this congestion, cither by enlarging the library building or erecting a new one. Money expended in this direction would bo well spent. —•I am, etc./ [ l£th -Vovuaibei'.
