SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
The concert given last evening at tht Sailors' Friend Society, under the supervision of Miss Huia Shepherd, provided a happy time. The performers were Miss Huia Shepherd, .I. Stanton,. M. T. Barclay, and Messrs. Edmunds, Williams, and ' Thomas. Miss Huia Shepherd was at the 1 piano. "Chosen by Lot" was the title of Mr. James Moore's temperance address....' Pledges followed. ;The" competition prizes came from Mrs. L. Nelson, and went to the Rotorua and Tongai'iro: . .
