WELLINGTON SUBURBS

MR. WRIGHT AT NORTHLAND

Mr. 15, A. Wright, candidate for Wellington Suburbs in the Reform interests, addressed a meeting in St. Anne's Hall, Northland, last night. Captain V. A. Macindoo presided.

Dealing with the Labour Party's platform, Mr. Wright maintained that Labour intended to socialise all land, urban as well as rural. The Labour platform made it clear that all privately-owned' land should not bo sold or transferred except to the .State, mid tho vendor would not bo able to get any more than the value placed upon it by the State, plus improvements. Why should not a man bo allowed to sell to the highest bidder? Borne of the Labour candidates were trying to repudiate tho Party's land platform, but it meant what it said, and could not be. watered down.

Mr. Wright was accorded a. vote of thanks and confidence, without disGCllt.
