A full share of the difficulties of campaigning was experienced by Mr. W. J. Girling, Government, candidate I'm' the Wairau seat, on Saturday. Mr. Girling and party set out in a launch on an electioneering tour of l'ort Underwood, Init shortly after starting ;i fierce southerly gale sprang up, and the party had a. rough experience!, being soused with sea water, while some wore seasick, until a landing was effected al Ocean liny. From this point, as there was no hope of the launch facing the storm, I lie party had to tram 1G miles over steep mountain tracks until they reached Ifnrnngi, at.
