1925 MOVIE BALL

On Wednesday, 23rd September. ' in the Town Hall, the. 1925 movie ball -will tako place. This is the yearly official fund ion of the. moving picture industry, and tlio Governor-General, tho Prime Minister, and the Mayor of Wellington have., accorded their patronage. .Tho proceeds arc to bo devoted to theKiirirsine appeal. Two orchestras arranged, by Mr. H. .T. Tutschka, have been engaged, to provide the. music, so there will bo no lagging between numbers. A wonderful display of fancy sets in costumes, representing various pictures and theatres, for which handsome prizes have been allotted, will be given during the evening. Local firms am also competing in. fancy sets TopreRenting their various wares. In addition there will bo dozens of representations of movie stars in character, for which prizes are also allotted.. Several novel stunts will be arranged, and beautiful coloured kaleidoscopic lights will be thrown on the dancers. Novelty dances are also provided for. Each film es> change and theatre will have its own specially arranged, alcove, this scheme being carried out in miniature coloured lights. . Altogether _ fhn arrangements point to a brilliant function, in which the Flunket Society should largely benefit.
