PROGRAMME FOR THIS EVENING

TO-DAY'S RESULTS.

The largest attendance for an afternoon session during the present competitions was recorded this affernoon, when dancing and children's items are being judged. The children will contribute practically all items this evening, the programme to include a piano solo (under 10), the dance duo (under 9), and a classic dance (under 16), several children's elocutionary items, including character and humorous recitals, and a Shakespearian recitation.

To-day's results are:—

Piano Solo (under 10), "On Horseback" (Poldini). —Recalls: Miss Olivo Ingram, Masters Dawn Bass and D. M'lntosh. Highly commended: Miss Audrey Whitelaw and Master Pat Carver.

Girls' Song (12 and under 14), own selection. —Recalls: Misses Melva Cater (Christchurch), Kathleen Chappie (Christchurch), - and C. Adams (Petone). Highly commended: Misses Esme Evans (Christchurch) and Gwenda Webb. Shakespearian 'Recitation (lady or gentleman, under 21), own selection. —Recalls: Misses Thelma Aitken, Mary Cooley, and Mavia Halliday. Junior Test Recitals. (girls, under 10), section B, 12 and under 14). —Reralls: Misses Melva Cater (Cbristcliurcli), Esme Evans (Christchutch), Kathleen Chappie (Christchurch), and Joan Maunder.

Kecitation (girls, 14 and under 16), "The Day is Done" (Lougfellow). — Final: Miss Sinclair Breen, &4 points, 1; Miss Sadie Phillips, 77 points, 2; Miss K. Bartosh (Lower Hutt), 74 points, 3.. Girls' Song (16 and under 18), "Well a Day."—Recalls: Misses Joan Lotvry (Otaki), Eileen Scarle, and Mona' Goodwill. Highly commended: Misses Mlaisie Smith (Feilding), Myrtle M'Guire, and Zell O'Kane (Lower Hutt).
