A good deal of preparation work has been done by the paving cvews in tha city and suburbs, and the mixing plants are ready for an immediate start, but nothing can be done under the present weather conditions. Tho first lengths to bo treated are Tory street, between Wakefleld and Vivian streets, Taranaki street between {Jhuznco and Buckle streets, a length of the Evans .Bay road south of the Patent Slip, a mile or so of the main road through the Hutt Valley, and a length near the Trotting Club's course. The Tory street and Taranaki street work will commence the 1925 paving loan scheme, and the other works mentioned under the Hutt road extension scheme.
