OTAKI, This Day. The train from Wellington to Otaki on Sunday was well over an hour late, tho chief > cause being the breaking of : a connecting rod at Ngaio.' Twenty-five minutes w»re also.lost in picking up and setting .down passengers. Last night or early this morning.'some per'son'burglariously entered the premises of Messrs. Bells and Moore, in Main street. Everything was left as usual on Saturday night, bufc this morning two windows were found broken. ■ Only a few shillings were stolen. Messrs, Brown and "Smith, Railway Commissioners, with Mr. Schofield, visited Otaki on.Friday night relative to better lighting facilities at the railway station. They were met by, Messrs. Atmore Heald, and M'Dougall, members of the Otaki Chamber of Commerce. The visitors admitted improvement- could be effected, but more urgent work.was needed at other stations. They were anxious to dp something for Otaki, and promised to Have the matter attended to in due course.
