HARBOUR COLLISION
FERRY CAPTAIN AT FAULT.
(BI TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
AUCKLAND, This Day. The Nautical Court of Inquiry into the collision between the ferry steamer Albatross and the ketch Scott, in Auckland Harbour, in August, found that Lynch, master of the Albatross, was at fault. He committed an error of judgment in not porting his helm, which probably would have averted the collision, or minimised the result. The Court'returned his certificate, but ordered him to pay the costs. The" nautical members of the Co^irt were of the opinio mrn that the Albatross s speed was excessive under the thick weather conditions.
