SERIOUS ACCIDENTS
(81 mSORAPH.—msS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, 20th August. As the sequel to a fall from a high chute in the children's playground at Victoria Park on Tuesday morning, a boy, Alexander Charles Fraser, aged two years, died in the hospital to-day. The boy's skull was fractured. HAMILTON, 20th August, A motor-car and gig collided, at the junction of two roads at ' Frankton. The wheel of the gig was completely smashed, aftd two occupants, Mrs. Lindsay, of. Whatawhata, and. Mrs. Driver were thrown on to the road. Tlje former escaped with a severe shaking and bruises, but Mrs. Driver's injuries are more serious, and. she was taken to hospital. NELSON, 20th August. Through an explosion,. presumably of a charge for blasting rock face in connection with road making in the Rfwaka Valley, Darcy Mickell, a young man, sustained severe abdominal injuries.' CHRISTOHURCH, 20th August. A peanut, or a portion of a peanut, caused the death of Stuart H. Young, of Naseby. It lodged in a lung and caused an abscess. An operation was performed, and though the child brightened up, toxaemia caused death.
