TWO DESERTERS PICKED UP
MELBOURNE, 3rd August. A man surrendered to the American naval authorities, stating that he deserted from the American warship Milwaukee when she was in Australia two years ago. (Received 4th August, 11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. A second deserter from the Milwaukee, who wa« arrested on a charge of trespassing on railway property, has been handed over to the American authorities. Both men have been placed in the Pennsylvania's prison.
