Official quotations are: — New Zealand: Salted, finest, 195s to 1963 per cwt (Is B£d to Is Bjjd per lb); unsalted, 196s to 200 a per cwt (Is B|d to Is 9jd per lb); other qualities 164s to 190s per cwt (Is s£d to Is B£d per lb). Australian: Salted, finest, 189s to 192s per cwt (Is 8d to Is B£d per lb); unsalted, 192 ato 194s per cwt (Is B|d per lb); other qualities, salted and un- < salted, 182s to 186s per cwt (Is 7Ad to la 7gd per lb). Argentine: Finest, 182s to 186s per cwt (Is 7^d to Is 7f d per lb); exceptional, 188s per owt (Is 8d per lb); other qualities, 176s to 180s per cwt (Is 6|d to Is 7^d per lb). Irish :^ Salted, finest, 196s to 198s per cwt (Is *Bfd to Is 9d per lb); unsalted, 198s to. 200s per cwt (Is 9d to Is 9|d per lb). Canadian: Salted, finest, 182s to 192s per cwt (Is 7£d to Is B£d per lb); unsalted, 186s to 194s per cwt (Is 7£d to Is B£d per lb). Siberian: 175 ato 180s per cwt (Is 6£d to Is 7£d per :1b). Danish: 201s per cwt (lg 9Jd per lb). CHEESE. Market quiet and steady. Official quotations are:— • English: • Finest Farmers, firm; 1265, 130s per cwt (Is l±d, Is 2d per lb). Canadian : Coloured 107s, 108s -per cwt (Hid, Hid per lb); exceptional, 109s per cwt (ll^d per lb); white 107s, 109s per cwt (lljd, ll£d per lb). New Zealand: Coloured, 108s, 109s, 110s per cwt (Hid, lljd per lb); white, 108s, 109s, 110s per cwt (Hid, lljd per lb). A shipment of New Zealand produce arrived tnis week per ».s. Piako. HEMP AND WOOL. Hemp: Manila market firmed, opened with "J" grade October-December shipments being sold up to £47 15s, but easier, at close, and August-October shipments quoted at £46 10s. New Zealand hemp in better demand, and earlier this -week business reported in highpoints July-September shipments onwards, at £40 to £41, fair £36. Market quiet but steady at close, August-October | shipments highpoints quoted' at £38, fair £36, and value. Wool: West Riding strike has not | been terminated, and consumption lessened, but prices fairly well maintained, although value more or less nominal. Present quotations for tops are:—64's (merino), warp, 4s sd; 64's (merino), average 4s 4d; 56's (super halfbred), 2s 9£d; 50's (halfbred), 2s 2£d; 4O'» prepared (coarse crossbred), Is B£d. OATS, PEAS, AND BEANS. Oats: Spot trade better. C.i.f. market quiet. No. 2 Canadian Western sold recently at 29a 6d per.336lb, c.i.f. ( but now offered at Is less without business resulting. English unchanged, new crops winter nice colour and good quality. Beat samples white have made 31s to 325, choice old crops 33s to 34a, nominal values. New Zealand "A" grade August shipment 31s, c.i.f. Peas:_ Maple Partridge mare active. Tasmanian sold 75s to 80s, ex store. New Zealand 67s to 695. Sellers firm. New Zealand Partridge August shipment offered at 755, buyers' idea about 68s. Blue peas: Better demand for Japanese and Dutch. New crops of English marrowfat 23s to 245. Only best quality Tasmanian and New Zealand command attention, inferior sorts being unsaleable. A few parcels of N.Z. in spot offered at 67s to 725, ex store. Beans :■■- Market quiet for spot. Best English winter quoted at 44« 6d to 475, spring 55s to 58s. Buyers scarce. Chinese horse July-September shipments sold at £10 ss, c.i.f. Cocksfoot: Danish new crops reported excellent, and very good quality. Spot parcels offered at 735, September-Octo-ber shipments 68s, c.i.f. TALLOW AND APPLES. Tallow : Market steady, but spot demand quiet, fair business" being done for shipment. Prices same as last quotations, exqept for mutton : Fine 49s to 49s 6d cwt, fair to good 46s to 48s 6d »cwt. Apples : Athenic, Raranga, and Argylsliii'o shipments ripened quickly, developing great waste. Market continues dull, and fair proportion unsold. Stunners selling 6s to 10s. Early soft varieties very bad, and shipped much too late. CASEIN AND EGGS. Casein : Present quotations are : Swiss 'rennet, £56 to £84 ton; Argentina rennet, £46 ton. Eggs : Market quiet and steady. Eilglish, Irish, Danish, Dutcli, Belgian, 14s to 17s per long 100; French, Italian. 13s to 14s 6d per long 100; Lithuanian, Russian, Polish, Us to 13s 6d per long ICO.
