NEW YORK, Ist August. At the Seabright Bowl tournament, in the final of the men's singles, Vincent Richards (U.S.A.) defeated J. 0. Anderson (Australia), 6-1, 4-6, 6-0, 6-0. In the final of the ladies' single, Miss Elizabeth Ryan (England) defeated Mies Helen Wills (U.S.A.), 6-3, 6-3. The weather conditions were partially responsible for Miss Wills's defeat, which is her first since 1923, when she was downed by Mias Eleanor Goss. The court was Jieavy from rain. Miss Ryan's -chop stroke' attack completely upset the young champion. The ball barely rose fr6m the court.

Misses Elizabeth Ryan and Eleanor Goss (England) won the women's doubles final, defeating Misses Helen Wills and Mary Browne (U.S.A.), 11-9, 6-1, Miss Ryan contributing most decisive strokes.
