GOOD FORWARDS
WAIRAEAPA NAEROWLY BEAT WAIKATO. MASTERTON, 2nd August. The Waikato touring team was yesterday defeated by Wairarapa, by 10 points to 9, although the honours of the game rested, with the visitors. The match produced good forward play, and though the backs on both sides threw the call about consistently, the play lacked finish. The score at half-time was 6 to 5 in the visitors' favour. Thompson and Stoupe scored unconverted trie 3 for Waikato, and Stringfellow scored for the home team, and Booth converted. In the second spell, Donald 1 scored for Wairarapa, Booth converting, and Dagg scored a try for the visitors near the posts, but the kick, which would have won the game for Waikato, went wide. Though full of incident, ther match was below representative standard.
