NEWMAN SHIELD.
WESTPORT, Ist August. A Newman Shield match was played at' Victoria Square to-day in wet weather ' between teams representing the Eeefton District High School (holders) and the Westport Technical High School (challengers). The result was a win for Reefton by 12 points to nil. The visiting backs handled the greasy ball with great accuracy, and were responsible for several pretty passing movements. Tha scorers were Michel, Bell, Moyle, and Cutbrash.
