. SHANGHAI, 25th: June. Coinciding with disturbing reports elsewhere^ the Shanghai police obtained intormation of a widespread plot' of students to hire motor-cars and dash round the settlement, throwing' bombs and shooting. The police ordered the garages not to hire out cars except to known customers. Volunteers and special police have been mobilised and distributed to tactical:points. v .
