CHINA'S INFERIOR STATUS.
tu \? - PEKIN, 24fcli June. The Foreign Office has handed a Note to the interested Powers, which argues at. length that unequal treaties should be given up. The Notes says that wlien bhina joined the-war she was encouraged to hope for a definite improvement in her international status, which however, is still inferior to that 'of the conquered nations. With a readjustment oi treaties other nations' rights could be better protected. The satisfaction of Chinese aspirations would consolidate the friendly relations with foreign Powers.
