PORT NICHOLSON BAND.
_ The Sunday night recital to be given in the Grand Opera House to-morrow by the Port Nicholson Band promises to be one of the most successful yet, arranged, fey the popular combir.-tkm. Assisiingvthe band will bo several well-known artists, including Miss Myra Sawyer, a brilliant young soprano, who will be heard to advantage in ."Bianca's Son"-." Miss Nellie Amies, a cultured contralto ■will sing the "Lament of Isis." Both these vocalists are the pupils of Mr H Temple White. Mr. W. W. Marshall! one of the finest bassos^ in the Dominion will sing "The Tideless Sea," and the ever, popular Lyric Quartette (Messrs. i-nipps, Howe, Goudie, and Brown) will l>e -heard- in a .number (a.) Evening-. &ong," (b) "^lly in Our Alley, and 'Kentucky Lullaby." Misses Sawyer and Amies will also sing the duct Still as the Xight." Mr. Frank E U-owther is to act as accompanist. The band Hems have been carefully selected and include the hymn "Sandon," Suppt's popular overture, "Poet and Peasant" selection Obcron," fantasia "The Village Blacksmith," and a, brilliant march, Honour the Brave."
