KARORI.
The following committee was elected at the meeting of householders at Karori, presided over by Mr. D. Dickie : Messrs. G. Gapes (chairman), E. Kirby (secretary), W. Sim, A. Tasker, A. K. Clark, J. Burns (junior), T. 0. .Lambie, W. S. Brook, and F. J. Hatcher. Messrs. Gates and Brook were appointed delegates to the School Committees' Association.
The committee's report stated that the attendance . last year .was 93 per cent, of the roll number, which had reached 400. The grading and asphalting of the boys' playground had cost £572' 9s 2d. The inspector's report showed that the standard of school work was highly satisfactory. The balancesheet revealed a balance of £30 Ss lOd in the general account, and £38 19s Id in the special account.
The resolution forwarded by the School Committees' Association in respect to the expenditure on school buildings was supported.
