EASTBOURNE.
The bad weather of last evening did not prevent about ninety householders from attending the meeting in the school, under the chairmanship of Mr. 0. N. Gillespie. The report and balance-sheet, which have already been, published in "The Post," were adopted. The outstanding success of the school, both in athletics and on the scholastic side, was the subject of general congratulation. Dealing with the capitation grant, it was declared that the amount received was 60 inadequate that it failed to even meet the cleaning and fuel accounts, leaving parents to meet the general expenses of the school. A motion was later carried condemning the paucity of the capitation allowance. A vote of sympathy was passed with the Prime Minister and Mrs. Massey, and thanks to the outgoing committee, together with congratulations on the record year achieved, concluded the meeting. The following were elected to the committee : Mr. W. Dick (chairman), Mrs. J. W. Heenan, Messrs. Andrew, Burch, Comrie, Fisher,. Jowett, E. Marsden, and .Hope Lewis (secretary).
