BOTANICAL GARDENS

■TO THE EDITOR. Sir.—l was" very pleased to read the letter . from " Nature Lover " in your columns drawing attention to the poor accommodation at the Botanical Gardens, so far as the begonia houses are concerned. I believe the Mayor has travelled considerably, and he must have noticed how other cities provide for this portion ot their gardens. One does not require to go out of New Zealand. Take Dunedin and Christchureh. They are very much in advance with these houses compared with Wellington. The exhibits in our small houses give an idea of what our Director of Reserves would place before us if given the required facilities for display.—l am, etc., . IMPRIMATUR. 21st April.
