ANNUAL MEETING OF HUTT CLUB.
Preparations for the coming season ♦rV*™^ the annual meeting o f imV M ffVT H°Ckey Club hst eve«" wg.- Mr. B. S, Innes was in- the chair, and there was an attendance of 45 menberal including the club's patron, Mr. H. P. Teagle. The annual .report, which was'adopted ■stated that the past season had been the most successful in the club's history In the various competitions, the A team was first, the B team gained fifth place, and the junior and third grade teams were each third in their -rades. The club also won the club championship, -the senior A team Was successful in bringing, home the Buckland Cup and medals from a visit to .Feilding. The record of the A team was a very good one, since they had secured 79 goals for 10 against them, and had only lost onn game out of 14. Several members did honour to the club by gaining places in representative games. It was desirable that members should avail themselves of the training facilities .open to them, in iwhich connection thanks were\due to the club's trainer, Mr. R. Cairns-Lee. , The membership was 51 active and honorary members and 62 ex-members. The finances were still in a very sound position, -and £6- 19s was -collected- from members and handed to jthe W.H.A. for inclusion in their finances.; which were now dn a good footing. The committee hoped that the 1925; season would result in a greater engendering of the club spirit, and that the younger members would take an even more active part in the management.
A letter of congratulation on the winning of the senior championship was received from the Wellington Hockey Club.
A vote of condolence to the widow and family of the late James Whithair, a very popular worker in hockey interests, was passed, members standing' in silence.
It was 1 decided to write to all exmembers, asking them to maintain their interest in the club.
It was resolved to enlist the aid of the Hutt Valley Association Club in approaching i the Lower Hutb Borough Council with a view to improving the local recreation ground for winter play. A number of field drains are required to adequately drain this playing area. Sports clubs interested are to contribute a sum and the council is* to be asked to subsidise the amount and carry out the. work.
The annual subscription, was fixed at 15s for seniors, 10s for juniors, and. 5s for third grade players. .
