SYDNEY, This Day. A double surf tragedy occurred at Tuggerah. The deceased, John William Wills, aged 45, and Alice Doyle, 26, were carried to sea by a powerful undertow. Despite determined attempts at rescue by other surfers, both were drowned. The woman's body was brought ashor^ and a fruitless effort made to restor* animation. The man's body was washed up later.
