A scientific discovery of the first importance has been made at Taungs, Bechuanalaud. A fossil 6kull, representing something between man and .the great ape, was found 50 feet deep in a limestone cliff. An anatomical professor of the Rand University pronounced that it filled the gap between the most primitive man and the most advanced ape. The individual was not an ape-j iike man, but a manlike ape, unable to" talk, but more intelligent than the gorilla.
