SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
.At the Sailors' Friend Society, on iuesday a number of seafarers were the guests of Mrs. J. Paterson, who provided the evening's enjoyment. A feature of the entertainment was a'leeturett© by Mr. J. t Paterson on Rarotonga. The lecturer described' the Scenes on i the island as the views were thrown on' the screen. He, with the ?ih^ rT.*elpers> was cheered for his efforts. Mr. Moore, missioner, added a few on temperance. The performers were Mesdames Rim'mers, J. Paterson and Vane, Misses M'Conchie, Howarth, g -Saunders,. E. Kebbell, and ' Messrs. East, Rimmers, and Morley, 1 the latter operating the lantern. ■ ■■-■■■■'..■ : ,
