THE WAR-CRY

According. to latest reports by mail from England the All Blacks made a decision early in the tour to discontinue their war-cry, which was adversely commented upon in several quarters after the Devon match. The statement is made in various papers that "the famous Maori war chant of the All Blacks will never again be heard in this country." The reason is set out as follows:—"The team have decided that the chant, which they have always given hitherto before a match begins, is an insult to the great Maori race."
