STRAND THEATRE.
"The Girl.Who Came Back" and "Fools of Fortune" are being .finally screened at the Strand this evening. Commencing to-morrow, Robert Service'e novel of ; Paris and Monte Carlo,
"Poisoned Paradise," is the attraction. Against the fascinating background of the Monte Carlo Casino, with its gaming tables where human happiness is recklessly staked on the roulette wheel, there unfolds a love story of two young people—an English artist and a little Parisian milliner—who find themselves unconsciously tossed by fate into the very midst of an intrigue upon which hangs the existence of the famous resott. Kenneth Harlan, Clara Bow, and Carmel Myers occupy the leading roles. The other attraction, "When the Desert Calls," is unlike recent desert pictures, in that it is not the story of a sheik, but of husband and wife sent by a sinister hand to seek peace separately on desert sands. Beautiful Violet Heming has the featured role iri a star cast which includes Robert Fraser, Sheldon Lewis, and J. Barney Sherry. Supports include scenic, gazette, and comedy.
