SEATOUN CLUB
The Seatoua Club: opened the seasoa with a large attendance of visitors, friends, and members. : Th« president (Mr. Philip Myers), before declaring the green open for play, remarked' <5n the progress, made, the healthy financial position of the club, and on many improvements made and contemplated. The Mayor (Mr. R. A. Wright) then spoke briefly, and congratulated the club on its progressive policy, extending over the past twelve years. Mrs. Myers then threw the first jack, and the Mayor (in the absence of the life patron, Mr. W. A. Grace) rolled the first bowl amidst applause. A feature of the , opening ceremony was a fine display of bunting provided by Captain Chudley, to whom the thanks of the club are due for the gift of six fine flag poles. Bain permitted the play of only a few heads pn an excellently-prepared green. On adjournment to the pavilion, music (provided by the. president) and afternoon tea dispensed/by.Mrs. Mycv-j 'contributed with dancing to make a pleasant afternoon.' The presence of Messrs. Meadowcroft, Potter, and;Shalicrass was rioted with much-pleasure.' -
